Where can I go to chat (preferably with girls haha) and not get the automated chat bots?
I just want to chat with some people and I try to go to the Yahoo Chat rooms but they are full of those automated chat bots and I can never find a real person to talk to. Got any suggestions?

Hi John, if you’re over 18 you can join this Yahoo Group http://groups.yahoo.com/group/liveadultwebcamchat/ . It’s for adults only (18+). It was created to provide a place where you can find other people looking to chat with cam.

Of course it’s free. You can go there read the recent messages of people looking for others to chat and get in touch with those people directly. You can also post your own message and let all the other members know when you are available to chat and with whom you want to chat. Anybody who’s interested will reply directly and you can chat with each other.

Basically it’s meant for people who want to chat with other real people without being bothered by all those bots you find on Yahoo. Join and see if it works for you.

Is the any way to export a Facebook chat conversation?
I have a facebook conversation in chat that is over 57500 messages long. Now I’ve discovered that scrolling all the way back up through it will take more time than it’s worth. Is there another way to get the entire conversation?

Install the Facebook Chat History Manager for Firefox extension. While logged into your Facebook account, open a blank tab on the Firefox browser. Go to the download page for the Facebook Chat History Manager add-on (see Resources). Click on the “Install Extension” link at the top of that page. This will take you to the most current landing page on the Mozilla website for the Facebook Chat History Manager Add-on. Click on the “Add to Firefox” button. A pop-up window will appear. Wait for it to fully load and click on “Install Now.” Wait for the installation to finish downloading, and then click the “Restart Firefox” button in the new pop-up window. This will restart your Firefox browser, so be sure to save any other tabs you had open before clicking “Restart Firefox.”

Sync the extension to work with your Facebook account. With Firefox open, log back into Facebook if necessary and click on “Tools” in the top menu of the browser, then mouse-over the “Facebook Chat History Manager” menu option. Click on “Get Facebook ID.” You will need this ID number in order to set the extension to work with your Facebook account. Right-click and copy the ID number in the pop-up box, then click on “OK” to close the box. Click on “Tools” in the Firefox menu bar again, then scroll back down to “Facebook Chat History Manager,” but this time, select “Create Account” from the sub-menu. Paste your Facebook ID in the top field, and then type and re-type your Facebook password in the two password boxes. Click on “Create,” and you will get a pop-up box telling you that your account has been created successfully. Click on “OK.” You can enable this extension to work with multiple accounts on the same browser by repeating these steps, so if you’d like to set this account to be your default user, make sure the “Set as default user” option is checked before clicking “OK.”

View your chat history. Log into Facebook in the Firefox browser, then either press “CTRL+ALT+F,” or click on “Tools” in the menu bar, scroll down to Facebook Chat History Manager and select “View history.” Log into Facebook in the pop-up box, using either your Facebook username or your ID that you copied from the extension during installation. What is the etiquette for facebook chat?
So I’m not really a chatting kind of person (over technical means anyway). I don’t text or do facebook chat for little small talk. I utilize those things for making plans on relaying information but that’s about it. So is it rude to not even respond to someone who says “Hi” or something of the sort on FB chat? I usually just completely ignore them if I’ve never talked to them in real life or don’t know them that well. Also how should one go about ending a conversation if it needs to be done abruptly?

the joys of fb chat and txting is that you DONT have to answer them. if you do end up answering, and you have to go just simply say “sorry but i really have to go right now, something has come up (something like that idk)

If you enjoy conversing with someone, reply back with a “Hi, how’s it going?”. If you don’t want to talk with them, you’re doing the right thing by ignoring them.

As for ending a conversation, I like to end my conversations since I often don’t realize someone is still chatting if I don’t hear from them for about 5 min. Therefore, whether I’m ending abruptly or not, I’ll end the conversation kind of like a phone conversation, by saying something like “thanks for the chat, talk to you later.” If I have to leave abruptly, I’ll say, “sorry… gotta go. ciao 4 now!” If you’ll be returning to the chat after a phone call, of course, you can say that, like “I got a phone call. BRB”

Anyway, you should feel free to conduct yourself as you would through any medium of conversation. If it’s just not your thing, ask the person to contact you by email or phone if that’s what you prefer.

I always considered it rude not to answer online, yet I’m annoyed by people who want to talk on the phone instead of exchanging information and hanging up.

If you are enrolled at a school of any type, many offer counseling services. Likewise your job might have assitance programs.

Be cautious with online services as the credentials of “professionals” can be questionable.

Self help books or websites might be an alternative option.

Hey mate, there are free counseling services but psychiatrists don’t particularly spend 7 years + training to do sessions for free.

How do I create a working offline chat room?
I’ve only got two days to do this, and some help would be great.
I’m sure there’s a way..i just havent found the right tutorial yet.
I need to create a chat room, and be able to run it offline! So the online free chat rooms and stuff won’t help..i need to create one on my computer that I can use offline. Then I need to add in bots to simulate chatting people. Let me know if anyone knows of a program or an online tutorial that will help me do this!

You have to program a SMTP server and a client.it will keep different accounts and stores the messages and when you login it will show you your list.thus you can use JAVA with MS-Access.

What does it take to build your own computer game?
How many people does it generally take? Are there any good, royalty free 3D gaming engines that could be used as a start? What sort of departments should the game have to create it at top quality (art department, coding department, modelling department, etc.)? How much time would it generally take to build an excellent video game that could be comparable to games made by EA with about half a dozen people working on it in different “departments”?

Yes I do realize it takes a hell of a lot more than half a dozen people to make what would be considered the norm for either a $ 60 XBOX or PS3 game, but I wanted to know what you guys think. We’re thinking very very small, considering it’s an attempt just for shits and giggles.

It takes an entire crew of people with a lot of resources. DirectX is a good game engine and 3DS Max for creating the characters. Some video games take 2 to 3 years to produce with a full crew, but would take 10 years to produce if there are only 2 or 3 people working on them. What EA means by departments is some people work on their proprietary gaming engine, others work on the characters, others work on scenes, others work on the GUI applications, others work on networking for networked games, others work on marketting, etc. etc.

It sounds as if you are brand new to this type of thing, so I would say that you would have no chance of finishing a “decent” game in under a few years… Programming isn’t really what it’s made out to be. When you go to a free site host they have tools to make your site, but when you go to make your game your not going to have those types of programs to help you out if you want your game to be original. Besides, programs like that would easily cost in the “out of most people’s range” area… lol Good luck whatever you decide tho

well, the thing to do, is to take a game, like halo, do the last mission, so that you can view the end credits. there you will get an idea has to how many people it will take to make a really good game. then you can look on google as to how long it took to make the game.

I just think it’s asking for a lot. a psychic reading for free? nothing worth having is free. and no one is deserving of anything. we should be grateful for everything we have and work for whatever it is we want. why should we ask for favors? we should at least offer something in return. I don’t believe a psychic reading is an easy thing to do. It’s also not necessary for survival, so why should anyone feel entitled to a free one?
